Oleksandr Oleksandrovich Chuyko

Captain, commander of the helicopter unit Knight of the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky II and III degrees. He was born on October 9, 1993 in the village of Antonina of Khmelnytskyi region. He went to school in the city of Bila Tserkva, there in 2008 he entered the Bila Tserkva Humanitarian School.


Pedagogical College.
After that, he graduated from Kharkiv National University of the Air Force named after Kozhedub, where he became MI-8 helicopter pilot. Defended Ukraine as part of the 18th separate army aviation brigade named after Ivan Sikorsky.


He participated in the UN Peacekeeping Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo for almost all of 2017.


Effectively performed tasks on the territory of the ATO/OOS, for which he repeatedly received awards from command.


On February 24, 2022, Alexander met the enemy in the air, defending Ukraine from Russian occupiers, successfully inflicting losses on the enemy and breaking his columns on his native land.


On March 6, 2023, during an air battle in the Mykolayiv region, Oleksandr, his best comrade and brother, captain Vladyslav Gorban, and four other officers died.
Oleksandr has a wife and two beautiful daughters, born in 2017 and 2019.


Oleksandr was the only child of his parents. Since childhood, he dreamed of becoming a pilot, just like him father, it was from him that he fell in love with aviation. Oleksandr’s father still serves as a pilot in Armed Forces Alexander adored the sky. He wasn’t just an officer, he was a blood pilot! The flight was for
him something special and incredible.


“You see a bird flies because it has wings! And people, people were born without wings… But I have them…!” spoke he to his wife…


Oleksandr was an incredibly loving and wonderful father to his daughters, he did everything for them childhood was happy.

And he gave the most valuable thing he had, so that all other children of Ukraine were happy, had future and lived in a free country.
